1. Operational Principle.

Digital cameras used the electronic storage device as the video recording carrier, through the optical lens which is under the controlling of aperture and shutter, to realize the exposure on the electronic storage device to complete photographic recording. Images recorded by digital cameras can be very convenient displayed on the LCD screen of the camera, television or personal computer without the complex darkroom working, and also can be copied and export by the printer very quickly. Compared with traditional photography technology, digital camera greatly simplified the image reproduction process, the shot image can be showed quickly and easily.

2. Brands.

At present, there are over hundreds of digital camera brands in the market. And the most common ones are: Kodak, Olympus, Canon, Casio, Sony, Fuji, Nikon(Recover photos from Nikon digital cameras), Minolta etc.

3. Imaging Quality.

Digital camera image quality, in addition to the lens quality factors, largely depends on the pixel level of imaging chip. The more of the pixel points, the higher the pixel level, and the higher the resolution of images, and the photographed picture performance is more exquisite, clearer. The pixel of low end digital cameras are generally lower, only hundreds of thousands of pixels; and the high-end digital camera pixel level is higher, the pixels are mostly more than 2000000. The higher of pixel level and the resolution, the higher of the grade and the price of the cameras, and the better of the image quality will be.

When buying a digital camera, under the allowing of the financial circumstances, you can buy one with better resolution. But do not blindly pursue high resolution, you should base on the capability and uses. Generally speaking, if the shootings are used to display on a computer screen, or in designing of design, then you’d better choose an economical and practical camera with 2000000 pixels; if you want to output the images, and the photos require relatively clear, realistic, then you should choose the  moderate resolution camera (such as 3000000 or more pixels and professional models); the photographer or editors and reporters who have higher demands on the picture quality should choose a high resolution camera (such as more than 5000000 pixels).
